Margaret Fernard Dole pastel on paper still life of a pewter tankard and an Asian basket with fruit. The artist was born in Melrose, MA, on May 5, 1896. She studied at the School of the MFA, Boston; Radcliffe Coll.; and was a pupil of Charles Woodbury and Philip L. Hale. She was a member of: Providence AC; and AFA. Her addresses in 1929 were 133 Prospect St. Providence, RI; and in summer, Nauset Hghts., Orleans, MA. See Fieldings page 231. Frame measures 14 inches square, image measures 9 inches square.
