French Colonial Indochine 19th c tea box. This silver box is from the middle19th century, probably Hanoi. Signed on the bottom Argent 800 HOA. This box would have been made in what is now part of Vietnam during the French occupation, which was 1887 to 1954. Very fine handwork depicting dense vines and leaves with beading. Measures 3 and one quarter inches high by 2 and seven eighths inches high. The inside is lined in rosewood, still fragrant of tea. Condition very good with just one tiny ding to the cover edge.
