Early to mid 19th century Japanese pine tansu, or storage cabinet, in excellent untouched condition. Hand-wrought hardware and mountings, wooden-pinned drawer sides, and paper lining inside the drawers. Tansu are commonly used for the storage of clothing, particularly kimono. Measures 40.25 inches high x 35.25 inches wide x 15.5 inches deep.
Japanese Meiji era bronze jardiniere, circa 1890. Relief embossed with birds and pine trees. Measures 13.5" high x 16" wide at shoulder; the rim opening is 11" across.
Vintage Chinese black ceramic tea caddy in traditional presentation box. Stamped on bottom of lid and base. Heavy weight. Excellent condition including the box. Caddy is 4" high x 4.75" wide; box is 5.75" square.
19th century Japanese lacquered Shibayama wood and ivory bezique or whist counter. The tiles are exquisitely decorated with insects and birds. Very good estate condition. Measures 2 x 3.75 inches.
