Set four period antique American Rod Back Windsor Chairs c1800. This is a true set of period American "Rod back Windsors" dating from 1790 to 1810. They are hickory and pine with solid plank seats. Each chair measures 34 and one half inches to the top of the back,17 and one quarter inches to their seats and 15 inches deep overall. Each chair is in excellent condition and strong not loose at all. One of these chairs has a label on the bottom that says Jane Mae Murphy Born 10.1.1776 married John Duncan Born 1.24.1768 on December 15,1795. This is one of the four chairs alike that was part of their wedding outfit. Their daughter Hannah (named for his her Grandmother Hannah Henry) was born April 26 1798 Married Capt. Thomas Patterson Born Aug. 10.1786 on April 30,1818. Frank A(lfred) Bicknell oil on canvas painted in Stamford, CT. Signed lower left and titled "An October Sunset" in pencil on stretcher. Condition is excellent, no in-painting, holes, or tears. The canvas measures 24 x 30 inches. This was the artist's 1908 entry submission to the National Academy of Design, catalog #216. He believed this painting represented the best of his work. The scene is highlighted with luminous pinks, yellows and greens. American Impressionist Frank Bicknell was an important member of the famed Old Lyme, CT, art colony. He was born in 1866 in Augusta, ME, and died in 1943 in Essex, CT. His other addresses include Malden, MA, New York City, and Old Lyme, CT. He studied with his father, Albion H. Bicknell, and at the prestigious Academie Julien in Paris. His memberships include ANA, Paris AAA, SC, NAC, Allied Am. Artists, NAD, SPNY, PAA and Chicago WC Soc. Rare pair of antique French bronze fawns. This irresistibly charming pair was brought back from France over twenty five years ago and dates from the 19th century. The life size figures are of equal quality to those of French sculptors Bayre, Mene, Fratin, Moigniez, Clodion and the Bonheurs. They are not signed as far as we can see, nor can we find a foundry mark. These are exquisite works of art by a master sculptor and are beautifully cast. Excellent original condition with beautiful brown patina. Each fawn measures 26 inches from ear to floor, 24 inches from nose to back foot, and 7 inches wide. Oded Halahmy abstract bronze sculpture Forthright

Israeli artist Oded Halahmy mid century modern bronze sculpture titled "Forthright." It measures 8.5 inches high and wide by 4 inches deep. Oded Halahmy began painting and sculpting at age 13 in Iraq, where he was born. His family settled in Israel in 1951 where he continued his craft. His father was a goldsmith and supported Oded's talent. Oded's love for bronze comes from watching his father create objects from gold and silver. His work is on display at the Sundaram Tagore Gallery, 137 Greene Street, New York, NY 10012. Wilhelm Kray antique oil painting Venus Aphrodite

Wilhelm Kray oil on canvas painting, Venus Aphrodite. The canvas measures 62.5 inches high by 44.5 inches wide, and the frame measures 73.5 inches high by 55.5 inches wide. Wilhelm Kray was a French schooled German painter of portraits, landscapes, and historical and genre scenes. He was born in Berlin in 1828 and died in Munich in 1889. Kray started out as a silversmith, but ended up studying painting in Paris. After touring Italy and Austria, he settled in Bavaria and became a professor. His work hangs in the Museum of Cologne and the Museum of Gratz. This very painting "Venus Aphrodite" is listed in E. Benezit as having been sold on March 7, 1911 for 8500 francs. This exquisite, museum quality painting is in excellent condition and is mounted in an impressive carved wood gold leaf frame with nameplate.
