Santoro Oil on canvas two people at a city gate Item # 4374 Click HERE to inquire about this item Santoro oil painting. The artist is Italian painter Francesco Raffaello Santoro, brother of sculptor and lithographer Giovanni-Battista Santoro. He was born in Cosenza, in 1844. His death date is unrecorded. He specialized in "Grand Tour" landscapes and genre scenes. He exhibited his work in Turin, Rome, and Bologna. He was known to have painted in Morocco, and we would guess that is where he painted this quiet scene of two people at a city gate.
