This wonderful pair of early portraits were done in charcoal. Unsigned. The portraits are in period frames with original blown glass and paper mate. The images were not glued down but just taped to the mate. The portraits each measure 9 by 11 inches and the original fruitwood frames each measure 15 and three quarters by 19 and one half.The man has what looks like a card in his hand and the woman some needlework. Boat at Dock oil painting Frank Briscoe Item # 4664 Click HERE to inquire about this item "Boat at Dock" is an oil painting by American maritime history and portrait painter Frank Briscoe. He was born in Baltimore in 1844 and died in Philadelphia in 1903. He was well known and successful. He studied with Edward Moran, and also studied and traveled in Europe. This painting appears to have been done in Holland. It is in excellent "as found" original condition. The canvas measures 20 by 16 inches and is signed at the lower right.
