Friedrich Gornik Austrian B 1877 D 1943. He studied sculpture at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. He did work for porcelain factories in Austria depicting small animals, later having them cast in bronze. The impeccable workmanship in this panel was executed by a master from the meiji period. The workmanship is as good as any item in the book "Splendors of the meiji period". This lacquer panel measures 24 inches high by 17 and three quarters inches wide and seven eighths inches deep. Condition. Excellent with just a couple very small line cracks.
