Sculptor F Gornik Bronze Letter Opener Sculpture

"F Gornik". This hand sculptured bronze letter opener measures 10 and one half inches long and stands 1 and three quarter inches tall. This unique pheasant letter opener has a footed base so it can stand on a flat surface. Be sure to view all the thumbnail images to see this item in more detail. Friedrich Gornik Austrian B 1877 D 1943. He studied sculpture at the Vienna School of Arts and Crafts. He did work for porcelain factories in Austria depicting small animals, later having them cast in bronze. Signed F Gornik with a AR foundry mark.Gornik was an excellent sculptor and his works well regarded.

Rare Japanese meiji Lacquer panel, This rare "meiji Lacquer panel" depicts flowers in a flower vase with birds and bees flying all around and a pheasant depicted on a Japanese scroll. The impeccable workmanship in this panel was executed by a master from the meiji period. The workmanship is as good as any item in the book "Splendors of the meiji period". This lacquer panel measures 24 inches high by 17 and three quarters inches wide and seven eighths inches deep. Condition. Excellent with just a couple very small line cracks. This is one of the best pieces of Japanese lacquer we have ever handled

Art Deco Metal Silhouette Sculpture of Racing Cars,This "racing silhouette" dates from the 1920 to 1930 period depicting two cars racing along with a man and woman in one and a single woman in the other. Both womens scarfs are blowing in the wind out over the backs of the cars. This decorative piece of automobile memorabilia measures 13 and one half inches long by two to four inches high by one and one quarter inches wide at the widest part of is platform base. This is really a great item.

Vintage car mascot, This Silvered bronze Ballot Trumpeter by Emile Edmond Peynot card mascot c1922 is in excellent condition. "Car Mascots" were used as hood ornaments and were designed by famous artist. This area of automobile memorabilia is highly prized by collectors. This "Ballot Trumpeter" by "Emile Edmond Peynot" measures six inches high and 8 and one half inches with its stand. See Motoring Mascots of the World page 102 #380 for a similar example.

"Pingouin" French Silvered bronze Car mascot hood ornament "Car mascots" are quite rare. This "Penguin" car mascot "hood ornament" was designed by Arthur Faber and dates from 1930. To see a similar Penguin car mascot see "Motoring Mascots of the World" by William C. Williams page 214 #781. This silvered bronze Penquin measures 135 mm high or 6 and one quarters inches. A highly prized piece of car or automobile memorabilia.
