This is a wonderful bronze with a great moss green patina. This heavy bronze sculpture is either Japanese or Chinese we are not sure at the moment as to which country. The detail is very realistic with a roaring lion fighting with a tiger on a rockery. This sculpture measures 29 inches wide by 14 inches deep and15 inches high. Pr Gilded sphinx figures in carved wood frame c1780 Item # 4655 Click HERE to inquire about this item Pair of gilded carved wood sphinx figures in carved wood frames designed as laurel wreaths, also in original gold leaf, c1800-1810. The figures are mounted on the original moss green silk velvet. This pair of French sphinx carvings were created at the time of Napoleon Bonaparte's Egyptian campaign of 1798 to 1801. The campaign was rather disappointing, but its decorative impact was huge. Each hand carved wood frame measures 30 inches wide by 22 inches high and three inches thick.
