The female shi shi is shown with her right paw resting gently on the back of her cub. Fine detailing to the curly main and tail. Condition is very good a few very minor nicks as wood be expected for a piece that dates from the 1850 to 1860, the late Edo to very early Meiji period. The piece measures 16 and one quarter inches long by 6 and one quarter inches wide and 3 and one quarter inches thick.

His paintings were very well received in the 1950 and 1960's,often mentioned in the New York Times exhibit reviews. He was included in museum exhibits at the River Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, the Society of Four Arts, and the Brooklyn Museum. This pair of bronzes each measure 14 and three quarter inches high.
