A beautiful matched pair of double sided open twist iron and gilt iron window grilles in frames, circa 1860-1870. Each frame measures 40" W wide by 54" high by 1.25" thick. The iron screens each measure 36" wide x 50" high x .75" thick. The bent iron rods are .25" thick. They are hand forged and have cotter pin ends. The windows are identical on each side, and could easily be used in an interior wall. They are superb quality and made by a master craftsman. The famous Victoria Mansion in Portland Maine, built in 1860 and furnished by Gustave Herter, has very similar architectural iron window elements.
