American Federal style Ernest Hagen Duncan Phyfe Pembroke table. This antique pembroke table we believe was made by Ernest Hagen in the Duncan Phyfe style. "Ernest Hagen" open his business in1858 forming a partnership with his old friend and shop mate J. Mathew Meier under the firm name of Meier & Hagen after buying out their old employers, A. Dohrmann, keeping it up at the old place #106 Norfolk Street. Hagen worked on many important original Duncan Phyfe pieces. Hagen furniture was made with the same attention to detail and period design that Phyfe used so he was recommended by people needing their period pieces restored or reproduced in exacting detail. Hagen furniture is highly sought after and in many important collections. The mahogany and craftsmanship in this table is as beautiful as it gets. The top is made from a single board and the bottom supports from ash. There are old repairs to two legs. The table is in excellent condition and measures 37 and one half inches wide,20 and three quarter inches deep with two 11 and one half inches leaves. 29 and three quarters inches high. The table also retains its original heavy brass claw foot casters. For more information on Hagen, Click HERE
