Early wooden oxcart wheel made from a single piece of solid teak. Measures 37 inches across, 39.25 inches high with stand, 3.25 inches thick in the center, and 2.5 inches thick at the edge. The deep rich color of the wood is simply delicious. Note the old metal brace repairs that kept the wheel in use through the centuries. Mounted for artistic display on an steel base with side supports. Probably Asian, made prior to the 18th century, but the exact age and country of origin is unknown. This is the earliest example of a wheel we have ever seen.T
