Matched pair of early American Queen Anne chairs. Connecticut, circa 1720. Serpentine crest rails, vase form slats, and bulbous turned stretchers. Maple with dry original red wash surface. Later rush seats. The back side of the bulbous turnings on one chair are missing small cap sections along the grain, not uncommon in such early chairs. Dimensions: 40" high at back, 16" high at seat, 16.5" wide at rail, 19" wide at seat, and 14" deep.
