This stunning chandelier was handmade by Richard D. Scofield of Period Lighting Fixtures in Chester, CT, circa 1985. Ten arm wood-turned center with hand-dipped wax candle covers. Colonial dark brown. Excellent working condition. Richard Scofield made the finest exact copies of colonial period American lighting in America and was allowed by Historic Deerfield to make copies of its collection. The candles are made from real bees wax. After he died at an early age, the company continued under different ownership but finally closed. The earlier works like this one are coveted by collectors of period Americana. Measures 15" H x 48" W with a 18-inch long connection rod with hook. Overall drop is 33 inches.
