American Federal Empire mahogany pier table with black portoro marble top, circa 1830. Excellent condition. Beautifully book-matched mahogany veneers. Pier tables were situated in foyers so that visiting gentleman could look in the mirror and inspect their boots for mud before entering the home. We show a picture of a similar pier table in the Old Merchant's House Museum in New York City. Dimensions:38.5" wide x 19" deep x 35.75" high.
