The Marquise was a particular favorite of King Louis XIV. In the Maintenon pattern, Gorham's interpretation of French Baroque style is restrained, elegant, and timeless. This service consists of: coffeepot (9.75" W x 11.5" H); teapot (10.25" W x 9.75" H); cream pitcher (5.25" W x 6.75" H); covered sugar pot (8" W x 7.75" H); waste bowl (5.25" W x 3.75" H); and butler's tray (29" x19"). Note: the tray is sterling, not plate. The total service weighs 246 ounces. Maintenon is an obsolete pattern. The purchaser of this service would be the second owner in 80 years.
