Ceramic on wood sculpture by Max Van der Linden (born June 1, 1922, died November 25, 1999). Measures 14 x 52 x 2 inches. Excellent original condition. Max Van der Linden was a Belgium ceramic artist. He graduated from the Institute of Decorative Arts in La Cambre . The work of van der Linden is inspired by the message of Christ and guided by a very broad sense of the sacred, anchored in everyday life and in rural life. He frequently tackles topics such as music, loneliness, death, anxiety at the chaotic or threatening mutations of the contemporary world. He discreetly evokes another issue through a gesture of solidarity, an encounter beyond conventions or a humorous detail.
