Set of 10 Dresden cups and saucers by Porzellanmalerei Ambrosius Lamm, Dresden, Germany, circa 1887-1934. The blue lamb mark on the bottom was a visual pun on Lamm's last name. Lamm translates into lamb in German. Excellent condition. The saucers measure 4.75 inches across and the cups are .75 inches high. 24k gold surrounds the floral design. Each of the cups has a different flower painted inside. Ambrosius Lamm was a decorator of porcelain, not a factory manufacturer. As a perfectionist, he bought high-quality white blanks from famous porcelain houses like Meissen, KPM, and Rosenthal, and hand-painted them with exquisite floral or mythological motifs. Pristine unused condition.
