Paul Sormani Louis XVI style mahogany card table. France, circa 1900. The top has a panel of bookmatched burlwood set in an inlaid frame of satinwood, ebony, and mahogany with a cast bronze edge; it opens to a felt playing surface. The turned legs have burlwood inlay, ormolu mounts and cylindrical feet. The two rear legs pull out to reveal a narrow drawer and to support the top. There is a brass maker's label "P. Sormani Rue Charlot Paris." Height 29.5, width 37, depth 17.5 closed and 35 opened.
