Antique landscape view of the Mill Pond by HENRY PEMBER SMITH (1854-1907), American. Oil on canvas, signed “HENRY P. SMITH” (lower left). Mounted in a its original carved gilt-wood frame. Painting dimensions: height 20 1/8 in. (51,1 cm), width 28 in. (71,1 cm) Frame dimensions – height 26 in. (66 cm), width 34 1/8 inches (86,7 cm) Painting is in very good original condition. Gilt-wood frame is in good condition. Henry Pember Smith (February 20, 1854 – October 16, 1907) was best known for his depictions of country cottages and river scenes around Lyme and East Lyme, Connecticut, and paintings of the sea and shore in New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Cape Ann to Maine.
