English George III butler's secretary bookcase cylinder desk c1790 to 1810. This Georgian secretary measures 70 inches wide, 22 inches deep and 95 and three quarter inches high. The piece was made in multiple sections. There is a center cylinder desk, two banks with doors, three tops with divided light glass doors and three cornices. The cylinder opens to reveal an adjustable writing surface. This writing surface can slide back to reveal an area for paper storage. The small interior drawers are each made with fine hand cut dovetails and retain their original ivory knobs. The brass drawer pulls are original as well. This is a very rare piece of period English Georgian furniture in pristine condition. There is one cracked glass and the writing surface leather is missing and should be replaced. Just in from an important CT estate. "English George III Secretary"
