A pair of country New England pine nightstands by Lennox Craftsman Hewlett NY circa 1960. Raised feet with low shelf and a 5" deep drawer. Each stand measures 33" high to the back splash, 27 inches high to the surface, 15" high to the bottom shelf, 20" wide, 13.25" deep at the base, and 11.5 deep at the top. Excellent condition. In 1928, Richard Lennox opened the Lennox House shop in a 12-foot by 18-foot cottage on the site of his grandfather's dairy farm. Lennox created his version of a general store and featured Early American reproduction furniture. Enhanced with rescued artifacts from the Oliver Hewlett homestead in East Rockaway (demolished in 1936), it grew into a charming complex of buildings and a mail order business with over 100,000 customers per year.
