Early ship captains hand painted enamel on wood tea box c circa 1820. This tea box or container is all original and in excellent condition. Pair of iron Newport RI ship brackets
Item# 8499    $1150
Pair of iron Newport RI ship brackets

Pair of iron catcus Newport RI ship brackets. We came across this pair of brackets in Newport RI, they came off either a sail boat or ships dock. They were very well made, heavy and strong. Signed but the name is hard to make out. They each retain the deep rich greenish gray old original paint. They are so decorative, they look like desert catcus. Each bracket measures 22 inches high, 9.75 inches across its top arms and has a 5.75 x 12.5 inch base. This piece is on display in our gallery at Old Saybrook Antiques Center and can be seen in-person by visiting 756 Middlesex Tpke Old Saybrook, CT 06475.
