American female artist Jennie Burr impressionist landscape oil paintings on canvas circa 1900. The frame measures 17.5 x 11.5 inches and the paintings measures 8 x 14 inches. This is a lovely example of Jennie Burr's soft focus landscape style. Beautifully executed, mounted in hand made frame. Acquired directly from an heir to the estate (estate inventory 291). Jennie Burr was born in 1872 into Monroe, CT's most prominent family, she died in 1961. Her father was a very successful farmer. She attended and graduated from Mt Holyoke College and the Yale School of Fine Arts, and studied at the Art Students League in NYC. These accomplishments were very rare for a young woman in those days. Listed in Who Was Who in American Art by Peter Falk. Exhibition at the New Britain Museum of American Art New Britain CT.
