Antique oil on board painting of a man blowing soap bubbles for a fascinated little boy. This is probably a student copy of the 1735 original work by French artist Jean-Baptiste-Simeon Chardin, who painted 3 versions of this scene. The first version hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the other two are in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the National Gallery. Canvas measures 16 x 20 inches. Frame measures 18.75 by 22.75 inches. Excellent condition circa 1910-20.
