Rembrandt van Rijn self portrait etching. This was hand-printed by printer Rae Boer, who hand-printed reproductions of Rembrandt etchings, often using the original plates, in the mid-20th century for the Rembrandt Museum in Amsterdam. Signed by Ms. Boer in pencil, to distinguish her print from mass-produced ones. Purchased in Amsterdam over 30 years ago. Rembrandt was a painter/printer and is one of the most important artists in history. He created around 300 paintings, 300 prints, and a couple thousand drawings, and 40 self-portraits. He was influenced by the Italian old masters, Dutch and Flemish artists, though he never traveled.
