Fannie Burr still life oil on artist board. The frame measures 27 x 17.5 inches and the painting itself measures 10 x 19.5 inches. Depicts a storage jar and fireplace bellows sitting on top of a table. Very well executed. Professionally cleaned and framed under glass, so that the Burr 1895 signature along with the estate probate number 307 shows on its back. Excellent condition. Fannie Burr (1858-1931) was born into Monroe, CT's most prominent family. Her father was a very successful farmer. She attended and graduated from Mt Holyoke College and the Yale School of Fine Arts, and studied at the Art Students League in NYC. These accomplishments were very rare for a young woman in those days. Listed in Who Was Who in American Art by Peter Falk. Exhibition at the New Britain Museum of American Art New Britain CT. Catalogue of work produced by The Connecticut Gallery Inc.
