Rare early 19th century Indian rosewood dowery box from the Malabar Coast. The top is carved out of one solid block of rosewood. It retains all of its original solid cast brass fittings. There are some age cracks in the lid, a few missing molding tacks and a break at the top of the lock face. It measures 13.25 inches wide by 10.25 inches deep by 9 inches high.
