An English black lacquered games or sewing table c1888. The hinged lid, hand decorated with a rooster among trees, birds and water, with silver and gold accents, opening to a removable lacquered tray divided into compartments, some with covers, all on turned legs over an arched base, connected by a turned stretcher. Measures 27.5 inches high, 12.5 inches deep and 18 inches wide. Excellent condition with some very minor paint loss.
An Anglo Indian carved rosewood and ivory inlaid sewing box, the stepped rectangular top and sides featuring elaborately carved fantastical animals, centering an elephant figure, amid floral and foliate decoration, all bordered by geometric design inlay, the sandlewood interior divided into numerous compartments, some with ivory fittings & additional sewing accoutrements. A removable mirror with inlaid border attaches to the hinged cover. Anglo India, c.1820. Note: Some professional restoration to geometric inlay. Dimensions: 5" H x 12 3/4" W x 9 1/2" D
