Japanese Meiji era bronze jardiniere, circa 1890. Relief embossed with birds and pine trees. Measures 13.5" high x 16" wide at shoulder; the rim opening is 11" across.
Mid 19th century brass chamber lamp with double burner. This lamp burned what was called "burning fluid", a mixture of turpentine and alcohol. Burning fluid was considered more efficient than whale oil, but was highly volatile. Height 5.75 inches and diameter 4.25 inches.
