English painting of a young sailor or seaman apprentice holding rigging ropes, circa 1800. This unsigned oil on canvas painting measures 27 by 21 inches, and the frame measures 31 by 23 inches. There are two small repaired holes to the canvas, which has not been relined. Nelson Augustus Moore oil on canvas painting of trees. Moore was born in 1824 and died in 1902 in Kensington, CT. This fine landscape is in very good condition. It has been mounted in a new gold leaf frame appropriate to the period. The frame measures 12 by 13 and one half inches, the painting measures 6 and one quarter inches by 7 and three quarter inches.
